We Won!
HKLTL vs WITS Tournament
36 members of our League competed against 36 members of WITS (Women’s Inter-Club Tennis Singapore) in 54 matches over 3-days (May 18-20 at the Aberdeen Marina Club). The final score was 52-2 Hong Kong! During this 6th annual HKLTL vs WITS Tournament, 36 women flew in from Singapore and we held a welcome dinner for all 72 participating women Monday evening at the lovely home of a HKLTL player We played a match every day, socialized and entertained, and celebrated our time together at a post-Tournament Awards Luncheon on Thursday afternoon. The weather was perfect for us on Days 1 and 2 of the Tournament and after some heavy rainfall on Thursday morning, we were able to complete all matches on Thursday with a revised format
All of our Ladies showed such high levels of tennis, inspirational sportsmanship and strong teamwork with one another and as an overall League, that I hope we can applaud them for their hard work and for representing Hong Kong Ladies Tennis in such a favorable light. For those of you who were not able to participate this year, we hope you consider going to Singapore next year to represent Hong Kong and to hold onto the travelling trophy as Singapore insists their strongest Ladies did not play this year! I am quite confident that together we will remain victorious home or away. So, mark your calendars please -- same time next year in Singapore. Let’s please congratulate all of the players on our winning HKLTL team:
